During the past 23 years that I have been the Vice President of
Engineering at the North West Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute (NARTI), I
have seen a multitude of filtration systems appeared and disappeared from the water
treatment seen.
In the search for better cooling tower water treatment I have
tired many filtration systems. Of all the filters tried (in the
past) failed to live up to the sales representatives promises.
Our systems still were burdened with very high concentrations
on calcium and the ever present algae bloom. We finally installed a chemical
feeder system to combat the problems. This was not perfect; however it
controlled the algae and reduced the calcium to an almost manageable
level.The cost was approximately $200.00 per month per tower. The worst part was that the chemical did not
eliminate the need to dissemble the heat exchangers and acid strip the
plated calcium from the plates!
When I was approached by the Aquagizer corporation, I viewed there
filters with the same skepticism that had with the "other"
manufacturers systems of years past.
They agreed to a test installation with no string attached. The
sales pitch wasAquagizer corporation will pay for the
deinstallation and return the full purchase price if I was not amazed and
astounded with the results of their magnetic filtration system. If it were not
for my most trusted HVAC service representatives insistence and
testimonial I would have not shown the sales rep. the time of day.
When the Aquagizer water treatment system was installed and the
testing started my skepticism turned to amazement.The calcium build up in
the holding tanks began to disappear almost immediately. At one
point (I hate to admit this) I checked the electronic door card system to
see if the HVAC service reps were scooping out the calcium little at a
time (they were not). Also I noticed that the plated calcium on the sides of
the tanks and cooling tower fins was disappearing.
After approximately 30 to 45days I observed that
the calcium flake (at the bottom of the tank) was reduced such a low
level that there was not a need to flush the tank!
After test period was completed and I was convinced the Aquagizer
corporations system delivered the performance that was promised, I immediately
ordered two additional systems.
